What is Polyester staple fibre and its uses

Polyester staple fiber is mostly used in spinning and weaving non-woven. PSF is mainly used for fiber fillings in cushions and sofas. It is also used in spinning to make polyester spun yarn, which is knitted or woven into fabrics. PSF is mainly categorized as solid and hollow polyester staple fiber. It is a synthetic artificial fiber prepared from PET/polyester waste and post-consumed PET bottles. Wadding and filtration industries, as a poly-fill for stuffing. Hollow polyester staple fiber gives good flexibility properties and is recycled to make the finest pillows, cushions, and quilts.

Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) is a type of polyester fiber made directly from PTA and MEG or PET chips or from reprocessed PET bottle flakes. Polyester staple fiber has developed as the fastest-growing fiber in the middle of all types of manufactured fibers. Polyesters are prepared by polymerization of filtered terephthalic acid and monoethylene glycol. The melt-spun filaments obtained by melt rotating are so-called tow. These tow are subjected to further processes like drawing, crimping, and gyration finish application and then cut into proper sizes to get cut fibers nearly equal in length to cotton fibers. These cut fibers are recognized as polyester staple fiber.
